India’s Largest Youth uniformed Organisation comes forward to fight against COVID - 19.



About NCC-
NCC (National Cadet Corps) is India’s Largest Youth Uniformed Organisation of Indian Armed Forces which comes under the ministry of defense. It is a tri-service organization comprising Army, Navy, Airforce wing with more than 13 lakh active cadets including Boys and Girls both. This Organisation is also known as the second line of Defence.

The moto of the NCC is Unity and Discipline which can be seen on parade
Ground and adventure activities that NCC offers to its cadets. Cadets also
take part in the Republic Day Rajpath Parade Marching shoulder to shoulder with the regiment of Indian Armed Forces.



They are often deployed during WAR, Natural calamities such as floods, cyclones and for help to civil administration. NCC Sgt Cdt Pratap was awarded an Ashok Chakra – Class III for his valor during INDO – Pak war, his name is today etched in stone in annals of Indian History.

Exercise NCC YOGDAN

This is the proud moment for NCC, the Indian government has chosen a great organization to assist in defeating this dreadful pandemic. It is the right time for volunteer NCC cadets to participate in this fight to save the country and mankind.

 The NCC issued guidelines for temporary employment of its cadets to boost relief efforts and the functioning of various agencies involved in battling the pandemic.
As of now, 25,000 cadets are being mobilized to provide necessary local assistance. According to the Ministry of defense, Only ‘Senior Division’ volunteer cadets above 18 years of age will be employed. “They should be employed in small cohesive groups of eight to 20 under the supervision of Permanent Instructor Staff or/and an Associate NCC Officer,

 The following tasks will be given to the NCC:- 
 (a) Maintaining of helpline/call centers. 
(b) Logistics & supply chain management to include:- 
(i) Distribution of relief material/ medicines/ food/ essential commodities. 
(ii) Help in cooking & packing of Food. 
(c) Any other task requested by the civil administration, with approval of the DG NCC to include data management including Queue/ Traffic Management & providing community assistance. 



The guidelines, cadets should not be employed in the handling of law and order situation or for active military duties or at hotspots. The govt also asked the retire health officials of Army Medical Corp to be ready for action.
